About

Originally from Berkeley California, Erik Shiboski is a musician and audio creative based in Los Angeles. Under the mentorship of jazz greats Kenny Burrell, Dr. James Newton, Ron Carter, and Tamir Hendelman, Erik honed his skills as a musician and composer at the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music. His work blends elements of jazz, electronic, and electroacoustic music, with the goal of blurring the lines between the disciplines of composition and sound design.

As a bassist, Erik has performed with a wide range of artists including Boylife, Kiefer, Magnus Ferrell, Issam Alnajjar, Nick Dorian, Henry Hall and more. His production discography also spans a wide range of styles and artists. In recent years, his production and sound design signature have led him to work on more film scores, commercial projects, and even some video game soundtracks. Working alongside animators and visual artists like his brother Hugo Shiboski, Erik has been able to explore the intersection of music and visual media in new and exciting ways.

Glassellland

Located in the heart of Glassell Park in Northeast LA, Gassellland is small but well-equipped creative space that I share with my good friend Grant Milliken. With a growing collection of vintage mics, analog gear, synthesizers, pedals and modular gear, it offers a great balance of flexibility and usability for a range of projects from scoring and sound design to traditional music production. We have a 60s Gretsch Roundbadge drum kit along with a beautiful Yamaha U3 upright piano and Wurlitzer electric piano. Contact me for inquiries about the studio or to book a session.
